Congratulations to Rachel Sanchez for being selected for COI’s October Athlete of the Month! Rachel started CrossFit in 2017 after dropping in at a box recommended by a good friend. Rachel started CrossFit by wanting to complete all of the 2017 Open workouts, starting with 17.1. After she completed the Open, she signed up for a membership and was hooked and fell in love with CrossFit. Rachel’s favorite movements are thrusters and cleans, and also doesn’t mind doing burpees! She loves to cook and to find new recipes for food and put a healthier twist on them. Since day 1, Rachel has loved the diverse community at COI and all the positive support from the members and coaches! Everyone at COI has made Rachel feel welcomed, and she finds everyone motivating and inspiring. Rachel loves that in CrossFit, you learn something new every day, challenging yourself to do better whether that is beating old times, learning a new movement, or constantly pushing yourself. Her best advice to someone trying CrossFit for the first time would be to tell them that CrossFit is for everyone and to not be intimidated thinking it’s too hard. Rachel believes that CrossFit will better your overall health, mental health, and strength, no matter your age. Congrats Rachel! We are so proud of all the hard work you put in day in and day out.
